Easy to Fold
If you're storing your car seat on its own, in the trunk of your vehicle or even in the closet, it should be simple to fold and unfold. The most effective combinations we've tested feature simple one-handed fold that is compact and durable enough to be used on long strolls. They're also easy to maneuver, gliding effortlessly over bumps and uneven surfaces. Some combos can only be attached and detached by straps. This could seem like a step in the back, and can make it harder for parents to secure their child's car seat correctly.
The BOB Revolution Flex Combo is an excellent option due to its sturdy construction and practical features, including a huge storage bin that is accessible from either the front or back. Its exclusive SafeCenter LATCH makes it simple to ensure a secure car seat installation by simply connecting the lower anchors by pulling the straps tightly and clicking the carrier into the base.
It's also quite light which makes it a great option for frequent travellers or families with multiple vehicles. The Baby Jogger City Mini GT 2 Combo and the Thule Urban Glide 2 have also scored highly in our tests of user-friendliness. Both come with one wheel that's easy to push with one hand. Both have a single front wheel which is easy to push (one-handed!). They also come with a flexible spinner wheel, ideal for shopping or running errands. The only issue is that they're heavy and can be difficult to lift when carrying a child in car seats.
Easy to Assemble
Certain car seat and stroller combinations are difficult to put together. The UPPAbaby Cruz v2 Combo is one of the simplest travel systems to put together. It even comes with a helpful guide. Other models we tried, such as the UPPAbaby Minu, UPPAbaby Vista V2 Thule Urban Glide 2 and Baby Trend Snap-N-Go EX Universal, were also fairly easy to put together. The BOB Revolution Flex 3.0 Combo, on the other hand, is difficult to assemble. It requires two steps to attach the lower anchors and using straps that cover the bottom of the carrier. It's also heavy, and it requires two hands to secure the carrier into the base, then detach it from there.
In our tests it took us around 5 minutes to put the UPPAbaby v2 together, which is a bit rapid when you consider the time it can save by not having to take out each piece. The majority of these models come with a simple process for attaching and detaching the toddler's seat, but there are other options as well.
